Ansky dramaturgy by Michele Osherow On the eve of her wedding, Leah visits her bubbe's grave for a blessing with her is her adoptive mother Tamar, a Jewish Historian. But, by invoking the spirits of the dead, and the ghosts of the unsaid, Leah is possessed by the soul of her intended Korean bridegroom- a young man she never met. Mother and daughter unite to exorcise the "dybbuk," while grappling with ancestral ghosts and cultural identity. |
